NEW REFERRALS: For anyone new wanting to engage with our services initial assessment is required. Within the assessment we will discuss with the person their interests and help them identify, research, trial and engage in their preferences.
It’s about working with the individual and together identifying options but also sorting through those most suitable for the individual to best meet their needs. Potential barriers and practicality are also considered for best chance of successful and ongoing participation i.e. individual needs and supports, activity cost, location, transport etc. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience and a wide range of networks in our role as Recreation Specialists.
We are aware that there are lot of recreational options available for people with disabilities – both online and in the community, sometimes these can be hard to find for the individual and others. This is our role as Recreation Specialist, please take the time to look at our website to understand what we do and examples of our work.
We are happy to discuss individual participants needs/circumstances and can be flexible with assessment types to fit in with the individuals funding.
Participants do need to be self or plan managed to engage.
